Event Countdown Module
Every second counts. Watch it tick live below.
Bind to the next upcoming event, the current page's event, or a specific one. Count to start or end. Choose which units to show. Set what happens at zero.
Live Ticking
Real-time countdown
The timer ticks every second via JavaScript. The initial render is server-side, so crawlers see the correct values. The client corrects from its own clock.
Time remaining until Marketing Your Events with WordPress begins on October 3, 2027 7:30 pm.
Unit Selection
Choose which units to show
Toggle each unit on or off. Dropping a larger unit rolls its value into the next — removing "Days" gives 268+ hours, not 4.

Target Instant
Count to start or end
One counts down to when the event begins. The other counts to when it ends. The cutoff for "next upcoming" follows the same setting — a timer counting to start does not pick a running event.
count_to = start
🎉 This event has started!
Time remaining until AI in WordPress Summit begins on November 5, 2026 8:30 pm.
count_to = end
🎉 This event has started!
Time remaining until AI in WordPress Summit ends on November 7, 2026 4:30 am.
At Zero
Three expired behaviors
Choose what happens when the countdown reaches zero. The message is shipped hidden in the initial HTML, so the swap happens client-side without a fetch.
Hide the module
The entire module removes itself from the page. No gap, no placeholder. The visitor sees nothing.
Show custom message
The digits fade out and your custom text replaces them — e.g. "🎉 This event has started!". The message ships hidden in the initial HTML, so the swap happens client-side without a fetch.
Freeze at zero
All digits stay at 00. The timer stops ticking. The module stays visible on the page.
Design Panel
Fully styleable
Change fonts, colors, backgrounds, borders, and spacing from the Divi design panel. Here are three style variations — all from the same module.

Event Source
Three binding modes
Choose which event the timer counts down to. "Context" reads the event from the page — perfect for Theme Builder event templates.
Next upcoming event
Automatically picks the soonest event that has not started (or ended, if counting to end). No configuration needed.
Current page event
Reads from Event_Context — the event the page is about. Used inside Theme Builder templates for single events.
Specific event
Pick an event by ID. The countdown always shows that event, regardless of what page it is on or what other events exist.
