Architecture
Dual event sources without data duplication
Divi Events Extended includes a full native event system, but also connects to The Events Calendar through a read-only adapter. Your site designs work identically against either source.
Native DE events
Built-in custom post types for events, venues, and organizers. Includes categories, tags, event types, and recurring event rules. Requires no other plugin.
The Events Calendar (TEC) Adapter
Reads directly from TEC database tables without copying or migrating data. Your URLs, admin workflows, and existing calendar data remain untouched.
Switch without rebuilding
Change your event source from the plugin settings panel. All 11 Divi 5 modules continue rendering against the new source without broken layouts.
Native DE Events

Identical Output Across All 11 Modules

Repetition Engine
Recurring events with dedicated database occurrences
Built-in recurring rules expand into a dedicated database table for fast querying, accurate calendar grids, and clean archive navigation.
01
Daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly
Set repeat frequencies with custom interval steps (such as every two weeks or the third Thursday of every month). Supports repeat count limits or fixed end dates.
02
Fast date lookups
Each occurrence is individually indexed for lightning-fast retrieval. Calendar grids and date-based archives load instantly, even with thousands of recurring dates.
03
Exception dates and holiday exclusions
Skip specific dates in a recurring series without deleting or splitting the original event. The engine suppresses excluded dates while maintaining future occurrences.
Search and Filtering
Eight filter criteria with progressive enhancement
A functional HTML GET form enhanced with asynchronous AJAX filtering. Allows attendees to locate events by date, location, price, and category.
01
Keyword search
Searches titles, descriptions, and venue names with instant debounced input.
02
Category
Dropdown or multi-checkbox filtering based on hierarchical categories.
03
Tags
Filters by topic tags to let attendees find specific event themes.
04
Event type
Filter by conference, workshop, meetup, festival, or seminar formats.
05
Venue
Dropdown list populated only with venues holding active upcoming events.
06
Organizer
Filter events by host agency, team member, or event organizer.
07
Date range
Date picker inputs for start date and end date boundaries.
08
Price filter
Isolate free events or filter by specific ticket pricing brackets.

Tools and Licensing
Migration tools and transparent licensing
No feature gates, no tier locks, and built-in tools to import your existing event database.
One-click TEC migration
Moving away from The Events Calendar? The built-in migration tool copies events, venues, organizers, and categories into native DE Events with one click. Preserves date ranges, recurring rules, and custom meta.
CSV import and export
Import and export events, venues, and organizers using standard CSV spreadsheets. Includes sample templates and duplicate detection by post title and date.
Zero feature gating
All eleven modules, all calendar views, and all template integrations are included in every license. A lapsed license stops automatic updates, but your modules and site layouts continue working without interruption.
